Harry Coumnas follows a very gentle acupuncture approach and has treated several patients who have a needle phobia and now accept acupuncture very well. For those patients who cannot tolerate needles and do want to get themselves treated without them, in the case of children, he also practices a non-insertion kind of acupuncture, which is absolutely painless. Harry owns an acupuncture center known as Good Heavens Acupuncture in Richmond, Virginia. He is also the author of a popular herbal book and regularly delivers lectures, teaching material from his book and other topics. Before this, he has taught classes and was also a clinical supervisor at local Chinese medicine institutes.
Harry Coumnas introduces his passion for Chinese culture and healing into his practice. His practice and the study of classical Chinese medicine, helps ground his incorporation of modern Chinese and Western research. He loves Chinese medicine and that is why, he realized that this was what he wanted to do in his life. The inspiration and reward of his dedicated work have created a positive change in his patients. He likes challenges and complicated cases, as much as I love straight-forward cases with immediate results.
Harry Coumnas has a unique skill set and strives to offer the most compassionate health care service. He believes in making a long lasting relationship with his patients. He follows a comprehensive evaluation of his each patient by taking time to listen and understand their needs and issues.
